10 ESSENTIAL FOOT CARE TIPS FOR HEALTHY HAPPY FEET

  1. Wash Your Feet Daily
    Gently wash your feet with warm water and mild soap every day. Don’t forget to dry thoroughly, especially between the toes, to prevent fungal infections.
  2. Moisturise — But Not Between the Toes
    Apply a good foot cream to keep the skin soft and prevent cracks. Avoid applying moisturiser between the toes, as excess moisture can lead to fungal growth.
  3. Trim Nails Properly
    Cut toenails straight across and avoid rounding the corners to reduce the risk of ingrown toenails. If needed, use an emery board to smooth rough edges.
  4. Wear Comfortable, Supportive Footwear
    Choose shoes that fit well and offer good arch support. Avoid tight shoes and high heels for prolonged periods, as they can cause pain and deformities over time.
  5. Change Socks Daily
    Fresh socks help keep your feet clean and dry. Opt for moisture-wicking materials, especially if you tend to sweat a lot.
  6. Keep Feet Dry and Cool
    Damp environments encourage fungal infections. If your feet get sweaty, sprinkle a little foot powder or wear breathable shoes.
  7. Check Your Feet Regularly
    Examine your feet for cuts, blisters, calluses, or changes in skin colour. Early detection can prevent complications, especially for people with diabetes.
  8. Treat Problems Promptly
    Don’t ignore persistent pain, ingrown nails, or fungal infections. Early treatment can stop small issues from becoming bigger problems.
  9. Stretch and Exercise Your Feet
    Simple foot stretches and movements can improve flexibility, circulation, and balance. Strong, flexible feet are less prone to injury.
  10. Visit a Podiatrist When Needed
